2027 Governorship Declaration: Senator Sadiq Umar Shares His Vision and Plans for a Greater Kwara

Opening Address
and citizens of goodwill — I stand before you humbled, inspired, and deeply committed to the future of our state.
“The best days of Kwara State are still ahead of us.”
Today is not merely an announcement, but a declaration of conviction — that our collective hopes are valid,
our sacrifices meaningful, and our future brighter than our present.
Formal Declaration
It is with humility and a strong sense of duty that I formally declare my intention to contest for the office
of Governor of Kwara State in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the
All Progressives Congress (APC).
“This decision is not born out of personal ambition, but out of responsibility.”
Building on Existing Foundations
Kwara has witnessed significant transformation under the leadership of His Excellency,
Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. These gains must not only be preserved but expanded.
“Foundations are not built to be admired alone; they are built to carry greater structures.”
Core Vision
Our mission is clear: Sustainable Progress for Kwara’s Shared Prosperity.
This is not a slogan, but a covenant with every citizen — from farmers and traders to youth and professionals.
Key Development Priorities
Energy & Infrastructure
Expansion of solar power, improved roads, and economic infrastructure to support growth and connectivity.
Security
Strengthening community-based security and deploying technology to ensure safety and peace of mind.
Education
Advancing digital learning, vocational training, and improved teaching standards to prepare future leaders.
Healthcare
Expanding health insurance, improving facilities, and ensuring accessible care across rural and urban areas.
Agriculture & Economy
Transitioning agriculture into agro-industrial growth with better inputs, irrigation, and market access.
Technology & Youth Empowerment
Promoting innovation, digital enterprise, and youth-driven economic opportunities.
Tourism, Culture & Creative Economy
Leveraging Kwara’s heritage, arts, and creative talents as engines of economic growth and identity.
Leadership Philosophy
Leadership must be humane, inclusive, and accountable — delivering real impact, not just promises.
“Progress must be measured not only by what government says, but by what families feel.”
Call for Unity
I call on all Kwarans — traditional rulers, youth, women, professionals, and the diaspora — to join hands
in building a stronger and more united state.
“This journey belongs to all of us.”
